The Centenary

One hundred years after the Nobel Prize in Literature: regional programmes, local initiatives and fresh opportunities to read Grazia Deledda.

Why this centenary matters

More than an anniversary.

The year 2026 marks the centenary of the Nobel Prize year attributed to Grazia Deledda. It invites us back to her novels, the places that shaped them and the universal questions running through her writing.

In Sardinia, schools, institutions and cultural organisers have launched separate programmes. This page brings together a verified selection and links to the organisers without replacing their official communications.

Autonomous Region of Sardinia

GRAZIA 100: reading, living, telling Deledda's story

The project for younger generations, presented on 6 October 2026, is promoted by the regional Culture Department and developed by the association Il Club di Jane Austen Sardegna.

Bringing Grazia into schools

The programme will take students from discovering the author to producing videos, podcasts, readings, performances, installations and graphic projects.

The announced launch phase includes mapping participating schools, forming a regional network and opening a call for expressions of interest. Consult the official channels for procedures and deadlines.

03

Tell Grazia's story

Original student work: podcasts, videos, graphic projects and performances.

04

Understanding the different initiatives

The centenary encompasses varied activities: knowing who organises them, who they are for and where to find updates helps people take part with confidence.

Regional programme

An educational journey

“GRAZIA 100. Leggere, vivere, raccontare Deledda” is the project presented by the Region on 6 October 2026 and developed by Il Club di Jane Austen Sardegna. It envisages a regional network, meetings, workshops and student productions. The published figures are planned targets, not certified participation totals.

Calls and opportunities for schools

Check the deadline

The ISRE notice “Il Nobel raccontato dai ragazzi”, in partnership with the Province of Nuoro, is a separate initiative. Schools must express interest by 23 October 2026 and participate in a short educational video project. Applications are submitted through ISRE, not GRAZIA100.IT.

Cultural calendar

Different organisations, different programmes

Festivals, museums and libraries create their own activities, which do not necessarily form part of the regional programme. This website provides an independent editorial overview and refers users to primary sources for registrations, changes and confirmations.

To follow the centenary: visit the events calendar, the school activities and thelibrary of works. The anniversary of 1926 does not change the fact that the Nobel ceremony took place in 1927.

An independent website

GRAZIA100.IT covers the centenary with full editorial independence. It is not the official website of the regional “GRAZIA 100” programme, does not represent its organisers and does not claim institutional patronage. Information and calendars are updated on the basis of public sources checked up to 19 October 2026.
